An image of three intersecting circles has long been a symbol of the trinity. Add to it the water of creation, the Light of the Redeemer, and a dove and some scented oil (the scent of course, we can’t see, but we still know it is there), and the words “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” suddenly take on a tangible meaning even for our youngest Godly Players. I love presenting Holy Baptism each year! Once again, this Sunday I will light a candle for each of us in the circle, to represent the light each of us received, or will receive, at our baptism. Every year I am in awe when we wonder just how much light could come from this one light… this one light which also does not get any smaller! It is all so simple, and yet so beyond the limits of our imagination.
